The kitchen at Kaya breathes with the rhythm of the coast. Fresh catch from morning waters. Spices that carry centuries of trade wind stories. Each dish is an offering — simple, honest, drawn from the land and sea that surround us.
Kaya Villa is the culmination of a journey shaped by discovery, inspiration, and a deep respect for place. Thoughtfully designed and brought to life with intention, every detail reflects the textures, rhythms, and spirit of Watamu — from its natural materials to its open, inviting spaces.
Kaya Villa was born from a deep connection to place, people, and possibility.
Its founder, Natalina Wang, first arrived in Watamu in 2022. What began as a visit quickly became something more meaningful. She found herself drawn not only to the natural beauty of the coastline, but to the spirit of the place — a vibrant, welcoming community where cultures blend effortlessly and friendships form with ease. Watamu revealed itself as a true crossroads of the world, where stories, perspectives, and experiences meet.
Inspired by this unique energy, Natalina envisioned a space that would reflect everything she had come to love. Kaya Villa was created as an extension of Watamu itself — a place that celebrates its surroundings, complements its landscape, and brings people together in an atmosphere of understated luxury.
Natalina’s own journey is as global as the community she found here. Born in China and raised between Ecuador and Milan, she carries with her a rich tapestry of cultural influences. Today, she chooses to call Watamu home — a place that, much like her own story, is defined by diversity, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Kaya Villa is more than a destination; it is a reflection of that journey, and an invitation to experience the beauty of Watamu through a space designed with intention, warmth, and soul.
“A place to stay becomes a place to return to — when every detail is chosen with care, and every silence is given room to speak.”
A sanctuary is shaped by presence. By the quiet attention of those who know that hospitality is not performance — it is care made visible.

A true host reads the unspoken. The need for solitude or conversation. The perfect moment for a suggestion. At Azura, hospitality is an art of presence — knowing when to appear, and when to let the silence speak.
Every bloom, every shade-giving branch, every fragrant herb speaks of patient tending. The gardens at Azura are not merely landscaped — they are cultivated conversations between human hands and the wild heart of the coast.
Between the forest and the sea, time slows. Breath deepens. Stillness gathers. This is not just a place to stay — it is a rhythm to return to.
